Fixed Member Placement

When creating groups, there are often cases where you want to keep a specific person in a particular group. The Fixed Members feature lets you assign specific members to a chosen group or seat in advance, excluding them from the shuffle.

Here are some example use cases.

• Reserving a seat for a guest of honor or leader.

• Assigning one facilitator to each team.

• Keeping a designated seat reserved for a guest with accessibility needs.

How to Set Up

• Canvas View

  On the group/member editing screen, select a member and drag them to the group or seat you want to fix them to.

  

  The member is fixed to a seat within the group, marked with a pin icon. When you run the group generator with this setting, the fixed member stays in that seat instead of being shuffled.

  

• Tabular View

  To fix a member to a specific group in table view, select the member table and choose a group from the "Fixed Group" column.
  
  You cannot set the position (seat) within a group, as available in canvas view, from table view.
